Chromatics are back with a new single “TOY” which without further ado, you can check out here:
As if that’s not enough, they’ve also released a deluxe edition of their “Closer to Grey” LP with a mammoth 47 tracks.
Closer to Grey was my favourite album of last year – from their superb cover of “The Sound of Silence” opening the album, the insanely catchy single “You’re No Good”, the Victorialand era Cocteau Twins-esque title track “Closer to Grey” and “Through The Looking Glass”, the dreamlike “Light As A Feather” and the almost Mary Chain like “On The Wall” it’s a perfect 12 track album.
So, the news of a deluxe edition immediately grabbed my attention – especially when I found out it’s a massive 47 tracks!
The additional tracks are made up of new songs, remixes, instrumentals and alternative versions – on first listen they are good, very good!
If you haven’t heard the original album yet, I’d recommend getting familiar with that first:
Once you’re into it, check out the deluxe version
The don’t have any UK gigs on the horizon yet, however they are playing at this year’s All Points East as well as Barcelona’s Primavera (which I must say has one of the best European festival lineups this year!)
