I had a great time at The Great British Alternative Music Festival at Skegness last November, superb lineup, great atmosphere and generally a pretty awesome weekend.
So when I found out there’s another one in March, this time at Minehead, it was a no-brainer – especially as the lineup, if anything is even more solid this time around.
One thing that particularly impressed me was the quality of the bands on the “Introducing stage”.
The term “Introducing Stage” often summons up an image of a stream of spotty lads who’ve just bought a guitar and amp off Ebay and formed a band last week, but at the Alternative festival nothing could be further from the truth – indeed the bands on the introducing stage arguably rivaled the established acts in quality.
So, I was curious about who’s on at the introducing stage in Minehead.
Apparently, whereas at Skegness the Introducing stage was in the main hall, meaning there was plenty of space, I believe that in Minehead it will be in a bar area with limited capacity, so if there’s a band you really want to see, best get in there quick!
I’ve gone on Facebook and Youtube and tried to identify the bands to give a taste of what’s on offer – PLEASE NOTE: Some of these may be the wrong band with a similar name, if you spot one please let me know and I’ll update the list.
